Evolution

As I sculpted this piece, I felt a deep sense of responsibility to bring awareness to the plight of these magnificent creatures. The northern white rhino is the most critically endangered animal on earth. The population has dwindled to two females making this animal functionally extinct. I wanted this sculpture to serve as a reminder of the urgent need for conservation efforts to protect these animals and their natural habitats. By using recycled materials from the local junkyard, I aimed to highlight the importance of sustainability and the potential for creativity and beauty in repurposing what others might see as trash. My hope is that this sculpture will inspire viewers to appreciate the beauty of wildlife and take action to preserve our planet's biodiversity for future generations. I chose the title of the piece based on the reality that the future has not yet been written.
